Google has launched its "Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up," which adds an "Advertise on this site" link to the ads that AdSense publishers display on their sites, encouraging advertisers to deploy campaigns on those sites, writes ClickZ. The feature was first tested in September. The new feature comes as Yahoo Publisher Network begins to compete in earnest with AdSense.
Potential advertisers who click on the "Advertise" link are taken to a Google-hosted and publisher-customized page that lets advertisers sign up for a new AdWords account - or add a campaign to an existing account - targeting that publisher's site. Image ads can be used and are sold on a CPM basis.
Publishers can opt out of displaying the "Advertise on this site." Also, they can customize only one landing page per AdSense account even if they run more than one site.
