Adobe Air Marries Online Apps to Offline Desktops

The look of Air

Adobe has introduced Air into its software environment to transcend the online and offline worlds, reports the BBC.

Air enables users to use online applications when they are not on the internet.
eBay is among the first to release a downloadable program built with Adobe Air. Sellers can set auctions up offline, and the data will appear on eBay the next time the user goes online.

Air-powered versions of popular Adobe software, like Photoshop, are also in the works.

Air is a free download that works on both Macs and PCs. Later this year, Linux-powered consumers will also be able to use it.
