Making matches
while you wait
Would-be video publishers suffering from options paralysis may soon be saved: Adap.tv has launched the Player Partner Program, which matches publishers to the video player partners that suit them best.
Partners available through this hub include Brightcove, thePlatform, Mogulus, VMIX, Twistage and Kaltura, but Adap.tv claims to work with more than 300 premium video publishers. All are pre-integrated with Adap.tv's OneSource, which supports "Strobe," enabling users to create, deliver and monetize professional-quality online video.
"Strobe" is the code name for Adobe's new standard media player framework. On its own, OneSource lets online publishers manage ad inventory from their in-house sales team or from video, display or text ad networks. It went live in 2008 and is available in 71 countries.
"Publishers are increasingly adopting standardized video players rather than building their own custom solutions," acknowledged CEO Amir Ashkenazi of Adap.tv.
"At the same time, it's important for leading video player platforms to help publishers build successful businesses around their video content." He observed that "it's natural" for video publishing and ad management vendors to try collaborating with publishers to ripen monetization opportunities for all.
