AdWeek: Nielsen: Ad Spending Rises 7 Percent
Nielsen Monitor-Plus reported increased advertising across the board for the first quarter, led by cable TV, with a 16 percent rise in revenues. In total, ad spending was up seven percent. Interactive media was not included in the mix, as it isn't taken particularly seriously by the ancient and hallowed customers of Nielsen's Monitor-Plus syndicated data. The Television Bureau of Advertising corroborated the growth rate, indicating that TV revenues grew about 10 percent relative to the same quarter last year.
