Online advertisers served 124.5 billion display impressions in October, compared with 110.2 billion in September, according to new data from Nielsen/NetRatings, writes MediaPost. Financial services providers accounted for the largest share of impressions - 21 percent - last month. Telecoms accounted for 16 percent, and web media was third with 16 percent of ad impressions.
Yahoo Mail was the most popular with online advertisers, accounting for 15.8 percent of impressions, up 8 percent from September.
MySpace fell to number two with 10 percent of impressions, unchanged from September's 10.1 percent. MSN hotmail was the third-most popular site, accounting for 6.7 percent of ad impressions, also unchanged from its September share.
