Ad supported digital music service Spiral Frog has launched, in hopes that users will pick legitimately "free" music over pirated content found on torrents like Pirate Bay.
According to CNN, the site's utilizes demographic filters based on age, zip and sex, curried during the registration process. With 800,000 tracks and 3,500 music videos, the site expects to serve 2 million tracks by the end of the year.
The downloadable tracks have copyright protections like those found at iTunes. They cannot be burned, but can be uploaded to multiple music players and compatible mobile phones.
Unfortunately, tracks are not compatible with Mac computers or the iPod.
