ClickZ: 'Do Not' Madness
Al DiGuido, CEO of email marketing shop Bigfoot Interactive, takes on the unpopular and difficult task of trying to rally support against the wildly growing Do Not Call Registry and a possible future email equivalent. In a comprehensive and sometimes desperate-sounding plea, he makes the argument that many jobs and much industry will be lost.
While he does not take into account the probability that part of the lost business (and jobs) will likely resurface to feed the demand in less annoying ways, he does present the most cogent argument to date for the telemarketers.
