AdWeek (via Yahoo): 4A's Asks FTC to Investigate Nielsen
The American Association of Advertising Agencies (4As) filed a confidential inquiry with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to instigate an investigation into alleged anti-competitive behavior of Nielsen Media Research. Members of the 4As have chafed over a three to five hundred percent rate increase over some key industry statistics products in the past few years. Nielsen, either through acquisition or long price attrition wars, which it recently won, stands as the sole vendor of many important traditional media performance measures.
