180solutions has filed a lawsuit against seven former distributors, charging them with installing its ad-serving software without first obtaining consent from consumers, MediaPost reports (via MediaBuyerPlanner). Two of the distributors are from the Netherlands, and the others are from Australia, Lebanon, the U.K., Canada and Slovenia.
The lawsuit alleges that all of the defendants had distribution contracts with LOUDcash, owned by CDT. This April, 180solutions acquired CDT - which had been one of 180solutions' largest distributors - in an attempt to rein in affiliates. Together, the defendants allegedly accounted for 250,000 to 1.25 million installations.
