MediaPost reports that adware firm 180Solutions bought Easy Message, a meta-IM firm that allows instant messaging applications ranging from AOL's, Yahoo's and MSN's to talk to one another. An executive said the deal closed a few days ago. Users will be able to download the application, now called Zango Messenger, for free in exchange for allowing 180Solutions software to display advertising. Existing users of the Easy Messenger application will be able to continue to use the service for free without the ads.
